Celebrate culture and community with us in Darmstadt.
Founded in 2020 by a small group of five passionate individuals from a WhatsApp group, DMA (Darmstadt Malayali Association) began with a simple goal: to connect Malayalis living in and around Darmstadt.
"DMA is more than just a group — it's a heartfelt movement fueled by passion and a deep love for our culture. We're based in Darmstadt, and our mission is to bring people together by reconnecting them with their roots. Through meaningful, inclusive events, we create a space where traditions are celebrated, stories are shared, and community is built. This is not a profit-driven initiative — it's a labor of love, dedicated to preserving our heritage and building a vibrant cultural bridge between home and Germany. At DMA, everyone is welcome, and every voice matters."
What started as a close-knit circle has now grown into a vibrant and fast-growing community of 500+ members as of 2025. Our journey began with small gatherings of around 30 people, and today, we’re proud to host large-scale events with 250+ attendees – celebrating the spirit of togetherness.
From Meet-and Greets, Football Leagues, Cultural Events celebrations to Onam and Christmas Celebration, and more – DMA continues to create a home away from home for every Malayali in Darmstadt. We are more than just a community; we are a family, growing stronger with every event and every new member.

"Every big journey begins with a small step — and for DMA, that first step was taken in April 2021. Just a few passionate hearts gathered for a simple meet and greet, unaware they were planting the seeds of something truly special. That moment, though small, sparked a movement, a bond, a community. From that day forward, DMA wasn’t just a name — it became a journey of dreams, memories, and togetherness. Here's to where it all began — and to how far we've come.
The unique portrayal of King Mahabali by a German participant captured the spirit of Onam in a truly global way — so much so that it caught the attention of Manorama News, making it a viral sensation both in Germany and back home in Kerala.
